Visually impaired craftsmen attach each individual bundle of bristles to the base of the brush with their steady hands, just like they used to in the 19th century. The result? Beautiful, functional and much coveted brushes which also help make everyday life that little brighter.
Our brushes are handmade in the famous workshops of Iris Hantverk in Sweden. Honouring a centuries-old tradition, the brushes are skillfully made by visually impaired craftspeople. Each individual bundle of bristles is attached to the base of the brush with their steady hands, just like they used to in the 19th century. The company now has 30 employees and embraces a range of cultures.
These brushes are handmade in Sweden using oil-treated local woods and natural bristles (such as horse hair, goat hair, or tampico fibre) expertly selected to be a perfect fit for their purpose.
